The Personality & Thought

The Personality & Thought
Christians have personality…not “ego”.
We have explained in other articles the importance of learning how to think as a true Christian. We need to program our minds with righteousness. God’s word has all we need to begin the process. All humans run their daily course on “mind channels”. Crisscrossing of old fallen mind channels with the new Holy Spirit channel [revelation] can cause bad habits to temporarily reappear which can cause the inner struggle of “spiritual warfare”.
Remember, all so called “mind channels” contain “thought patterns”. Thought patterns ultimately fall only under three categories [TIA]. Proper thinking shapes new mind channels and combats old patterns of THINKING. What is thinking? Thinking is a gift from God. Let us look at how man has tried to explain the process of thinking.
Aristotle basically said: “What we expect, that we find.” There is some truth to this. We sometimes become the product of our own expectations. With the proper knowledge, the knowledge that God wishes to give, we can achieve our true God given potential.
Demosthenes basically stated: “What we wish, that we believe.” Here is an intellectual explanation of faith. In other words, mankind has an idea of faith. True Faith must be invested in the One Truth to have honest and healthy relationships. Finally we could look at a description of thought from Shakespeare, he basically stated: “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Now here we find the fallen human reason at work. This idea places thought on the platform of “relativism”. This is a plain denial of Absolute Reality. No static moral truth for the insanely liberal mind.
How does God define the out come of thinking? God says: “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” [Proverbs 23:7]
What all humans are looking for consciously or unconsciously is perfect identity [Kingdom Reality]. Without Christian Perception there is identity crisis because there are many possible alternatives without Jesus Christ [Ultimate Reality], and we each much decide “who we are”. When “The Science of Christian Thought” uses the term ego we mean the feeling of “self” in and by itself. Christians do not ultimately teach the idea of “ego”. Instead, we believe that our true self is the gifted personality bestowed upon our individual being by God Himself. Self consciousness could be the simplest explanation of the so called “ego”. But we are more than just self-conscious; we each have our own PERSON [personality]. We have our own likes and dislikes. We also have different approaches on how we learn things.
As true Christians we use logic but we never place logical systems of thought above the Revealed Word of God. In other words, we accept “revelation” in our thought process. Many only use logic when processing their perception of things. Christians are more concerned with real perception (Christian Perception) than some prideful concept that we might be trying to keep alive. Christians do not accept a stringent duality. Christians understand the law of Triple Conjunction [this subject posted in other articles]. In other words, we are not “boxed in” as some would think.
Many find it very difficult to throw away distorted theological concepts and instead allow uncontrolled emotion to hold on to perverted perceptions of true Christian Reality. Many who have been confronted with the true Christian Perception as taught in the true Worldwide Church of God  [SOCT] have not stayed long enough nor explored the fact of true humility long enough to grasp the Real Truth….the Plain Truth of Jesus Christ.
Individual personality is a gift from God. We are each created with our own special qualities. The “Christian self” is the God given personality. This can be shaped and trained to think properly while holding to individuality. God did not create us to be mere robots. One who has not accepted the fact of true personality is really only acting from the so called ‘ego’ [pride], a sense of self without true direction. ‘Egocentric’ [arrogance, conceit, prideful] minds develop their own rules and laws to live by based on fallen human nature. This brings with it distortions of personality and behavioral problems because of disobedience to God’s Way.
Christians learn to see all so called “points” of any discussion within the expansion of Pure Christian Doctrine. Christians learn to see things through the eyes of Jesus Christ. This is impossible without the indwelling Holy Spirit. Many who do not have the static truth or absolute authority in their understanding drift off subjects of discussion, from point to point, without understanding the true connecting factor of all things. Christians think “theologically” in all of their understandings.
We understand that God has given us unchanging qualities for the good. We are personalities created in the very image of the Creator. This must be meditated on and one must begin to truly understand the depth of true relationship.
Even at the resurrection there is one part of you that remains absolutely unaltered, and that is personality. The personality holds to permanence in the presence of change. True personality is bestowed by God upon each human individual as a potentially eternal endowment. Those who have been truly converted have Holy Spirit to guide the development of personality and to become truly “born again” children of God. True personality signifies the unification of all factors of reality, brings one to Christian Perception and to Christian Reality. Born Again Personality will survive to live in the Kingdom of God. Without Holy Spirit personality is mortal.
