Understanding the Triple “A” ~ SOCT Teaching

SOCT Paper 8

Understanding the Triple “A”

Triple “A” is a teaching of the Science of Christian Thought [SOCT]. This doctrine is powerful when understood. In this paper Mr. Eric W. King will give you special insight about AAA. All true Christians should understand this and be able to apply it in their lives. Read and Share.

The “triple A” doctrine is extremely important. I didn’t realize the importance of this doctrine and how KEY it was to walking with Jesus Christ until I began to apply it more fully. God has been revealing extremely important teachings to me. Over the last couple of years I have been able to expand the SOCT dictionary. A true Christian Science of Thought has emerged. People have been able to apply the teachings to their lives and have experienced greater awareness, compassion, and judgment. In this paper I would like to look at some of the depth found in the AAA doctrine.

First off, what does the AAA stand for? We find it listed as such in the SOCT Dictionary:
Triple ‘A’ - (AAA): SOCT has developed what we call “the three A’s” or simply “triple A”. What do the three A’s stand for? “Awake, Aware, Alert”. All Christians learn to become awakeaware, and alert!Right action is what we call MOCA [Mind of Christ Action]. Here is how this can simply be determined:-

1, Awake:  Conscious of your surroundings (location).

2, Aware: Conscious of those objects moving around your space (movement).

3, Alert: Conscious of your actions (your movement or reactions you make).”

So the SOCT dictionary says that the triple A’s stand for: Awake, Aware, and Alert. This further states that these are closely tied to MOCA [Mind of Christ Action]. We have studied the MOCA teachings before. Here is what the SOCT Dictionary says MOCA is:

Mind of Christ Action [MOCA]: This is the point where man begins to truly think and act clearly. Only the true Christian can begin this process. It involves the development of the mind under the influence of Holy Spirit. [Romans 12:2 1 Corinthians 2:14] To have the Mind of Christ means that the individual has gone through true conversion. To receive the mind of Christ one must come into contact with Jesus Christ and His True Church. This is rare. MOCA is the ability to see things through the eyes of God. To understand the mental condition of this fallen world and to respond with the Love of God. MOCA is a mind possessed with Holy Spirit.”

So MOCA is a state of “being” and the triple “A” helps us remain in this state of being. Let us look at the AAA teaching. The first “A” stands for being “AWAKE”. It is defined as being conscious of our surroundings or location. Knowing where we are and why we are there. We can relate all the “A’s” to our conscious state, our Conscious Mind. The SOCT Dictionarydefines it as such:

Conscious Mind: The “awake” mind. What we are experiencing at the moment. Displaying a degree of controlled thought. Perceiving, apprehending, feeling with controlled observation. Our conscious mind can reflect the true mental state or try and cover it. The conscious mind deals with CI (control issues).”

To be in full conscious we must be operating in triple ‘A’. In other words, some of the A’s might be active but not all. The second “A” stands for AWARE and points to all movement in our area of being, being conscious of the objects moving around our space. The third “A” stands for ALERT and means that you are conscious of your own actions and reactions within your space. It is this third “A” that most all of us have trouble with. We may know where we are at and why we are there (first A), we may be conscious of those moving around us (second A) but we are so keyed in on these two that we fall into a quality trait of mimicking somebody else and loose touch with our actions and reactions.

Most of us jump in and out of character traits unknowingly. We may be acting out specific father or mother qualities due to certain circumstances we are not aware (conscious) of. So to stay in complete AAA we must watch this last “A” very carefully. Jesus tells us to:”Watch” and apostle Paul says: “Stay awake and be sober”. The triple “A” doctrine will help.

Not being centered in Jesus Christ causes the person to react wrongfully under “sin-stress” situations. This can cause the person to take on distorted quality traits of others. The person may take on his father’s or mother’s identity traits which deal with anger, confusion, panic, etc. This is evidence that the person does not yet have enough identity in Christ to properly deal with the situation.

The First S.E. [Sinful-Experience]

We must understand that we have a major mental block [MB] that is hard-wired in our consciousness. We have inherited this propensity. It all started with the first and most powerful sinful-experience. The SOCT Dictionary defines the “sinful-experience” as such:

Sinful Experiences: An experience of extreme distortion containing pain [physical or emotional]. These experiences are usually repressed and tucked away in our personal unconscious mind [the holy place]. Because we are born with the sinful nature we have no way of properly interpreting these experiences and it is these very experiences that effect our distortion in choice making and decision making. They can cause psychosomatic ills. They become stumps or mental blocks [MB’s]. These can be fixed [cleared] through CTS.”

Because our first parents [Adam & Eve] were denied the “Tree of Life” after they sinned they gained the first and most powerful SE (sinful-experience). From that point on they longed for SURVIVAL. The “tree of life” would have granted them this survival but it was blocked from them. This created a powerful MB in our first parents [the SE created the MB]. God was “blocked out” so they now sought survival elsewhere. Through competition and pride people are still seeking survival in all areas of their life even today.

Jesus Christ came here to help us. He gave us the invitation into the Kingdom. But first we must be cleared. Through Jesus Christ we can “renew our minds” and be cleared from all sinful-experiences and mind blocks ~ from all sin!

The true teachings of the Worldwide Church of God are here. Only through pure doctrine can one learn about the True Jesus Christ. You must understand the human condition and how to get out of it through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All trying to create reactions

We were created to be in relationship. We serve the God of relationship. We are all thus trying to discover and seek out our true identity by discovering our true personality. All humans are trying to create reactions in their awake state of mind. We all seek to be noticed in some way or another. All fallen communication is a series of reactions.

True action goes against the sinful nature so true action is not “reaction”, it is true movement. As Christians we try and live in MOCA [pronounced, mocha] which is an acronym meaning “mind of Christ action”. In a sinful state the reaction-mind dominates us. We all create effects but what we really want are reactions. Reaction means we have hit the reactor. We long for attention. Only the true Christian understands a proper and healthy relationship.

It is difficult for the Christian to be in a constant MOCA state, especially “baby Christians” [new converts].  To be in MOCA is to be in “triple A”. We slip out of this awareness very easily. What happens to most of us is that we shut down our alertness (3rd “A” ~ Self action consciousness) and get off track mimicking a bad quality trait of another (such as acting out the angry mother or father).

The true Worldwide Church of God continues to teach all true Christians how to “think like Christ”. We cover the Christian thought process in our studies, “The Science of Christian Thought”. Here I would like to show you just a portion of how Christians gain stability through strong and proper faith in the One true God.

Reactions and true action to all events occurs in the mind before it occurs any place else. God has called His true children to win the spiritual battle of maintaining a correct mental attitude before anything else. We have covered in other studies the fact that only those who have gone through true conversion and have the Holy Spirit are able to have the strength to properly begin this process. If we think right, God’s righteousness, all else will be right....which is to say, all shall be properly received and developed in Christian Reality.

The Bible proclaims: “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” [Proverbs 23:7] We must learn to look at things from God’s point of view [Christian Thinking]. How did God’s ancient people react to apparent danger?

“They were sore afraid.” The Bible tells us “perfect love casteth out all fear” [1 John 4:18]. If God’s people truly love God “with all their heart” they would trust and not be seized with fear. We read that all the old patriarchs “trusted God” and “listened to God” and were “obedient to God”. We must learn from their examples. Especially in times of trouble can we learn to trust God and draw close to Him.  Many who claim to be Christian today do not know how to draw close to God because their fallen denominations are not teaching them the fact that true Christianity involves a NEW WAY OF THINKING!

It truly amazes me how many so called Christians have no true solid doctrinal foundation when it comes to their beliefs in Jesus Christ. The Worldwide Church of God [COGSR] has always taught Christians proper theology and has grounded Christian students in the Word of God. In this article I will talk about the human mind and discuss what it means to be a Christian Critical Thinker.

Sadly, many who once claimed Christianity as their faith have turned to speculative-science and New Age thought because they felt unsatisfied with their Christian understanding. Jesus told us that we would “never thirst again” if we studied His word. [John 4:13] God’s word is rich with deep understanding. [Daniel 2:22] The problem is with all the false denominationalism. False theology has left people spiritually dry. The teachings of WCG theology agree with sound science.

First off, what does it mean to “think”? When we look at all the psychological definitions for thinking we find many answers, some conflict with others. Most might call it “mental activity’ which is very vague. The Bible would define thinking as a deliberate exploration of experience for a purpose. [Romans 1:20] Many do not realize it but they are seeking for purpose in everything that they do. This can lead to theidea or fact of proper information when deciding things; a base or static truth which all else is compared to; a foundation.

Thinking is also based on intelligence. People’s intelligence acts on their experience. Some may argue that perfect information would make thinking unnecessary. This is to take information to the extreme. We can know facts but that certainly doesn’t stop people from thinking. The Bible proclaims the fact of One Truth, an absolute Truth. The Bible proclaims that only God has absolute Truth and understanding of all things. [Proverbs 3:5-6] God has given us revelation of Himself through His word. God wants us to think! Scientists might proclaim the fact that all that “is” cannot be understood by mans little brain. The Bible agrees. However, enough can be understood to develop proper relationship with the ONE TRUTH and the personality of an intelligent God.

Christians approach everything by a proper understanding of God’s word. What is a proper understanding of God’s word? The Bible proclaims that only those who have the Holy Spirit can truly and properly understand God’s word. Christian comprehension of truth relies on intervention from God himself. [Philippians 2:5] In this article I will rely on God’s Holy Spirit to articulate the meaning of Truth in human thinking. [1 Corinthians 1:18] From this perspective I cannot prove to anybody what I am saying is true. I must rely on the Holy Spirit. [Proverbs 3:5-6] This approach is from a factual understanding of static or absolute Truth from God himself. Only those who are called of God and or who have the Holy Spirit shall comprehend. [Romans 8:16]

As Christians we are commanded to “prove all things”. [1 Thessalonians 5:21] We do this by testing our thinking against what the Word of God proclaims. [Acts 17:11] I have studied many religions and philosophical ideas but without a foundation to base it all on I am simply “blown here and there by every wind of doctrine”. [Ephesians 4:14] God is not the author of confusion.
[1 Corinthians 14:33]

The Bible asks us to use our intellectual capabilities but to keep them in ‘check’ with absolute and revealed revelation from God. Christian thinking is therefore a disciplined practice. [James 4:10]  It goes against conventional ideas of thinking. [1 Corinthians 1:25] This does not mean we cannot be critical in our thinking. As a matter of fact Christians are more critical in their thinking process than other people who are not Christian. Christians can look at what is called “the bigger picture”. They can learn to broaden their scope when looking at an issue. Where this becomes a paradoxical issue is in the idea of error-free thinking. Many can listen to what you are saying and then try and find a logical error. But based on whose logic? [Colossians 2:8]

Logical thinking in and of itself is only based on mans five physical faculties. With only these limited tools man can come up with numerous if not infinitesimal amounts of conclusions to even simple questions. Please do not misunderstand me, God wants us to be creative but not without His static revealed truth as the foundation. There is no error in God’s understanding. God has given His children solid and foundational blocks of absolute truth. All of mans understanding should be built around these blocks! Jesus himself being the “chief cornerstone”. [Ephesians 2:20]

As Christians we are commanded to be very careful on how we build! [1 Corinthians 3:11-15]
