SOCT – Cleansing Thoughts

SOCT Paper 39

SOCT – Cleansing Thoughts

~ As true Christians and members of Christ's true church we have many things that we struggle with. I call these things, “The Christian Paradox”. For one thing, we thank God for this life. We have very good memories of growing up (some do not, and this is part of the paradox). When we grow older we may see the beauty of God's creation. As a child I even remember the bright sunny days, running and playing, walking in the park. I noticed the bird's and plant life. It all fascinated me and still does. So even in this “fallen world” we see remnants of God's beauty. ~

~ It's funny. Man boasts about going to the moon and mars. He boasts about all his computer technology. He boasts about how smart he is on all levels yet he cannot conquer fallen human nature. Can corrupt man conquer corrupt man? The truth is man cannot even conquer himself! Christianity gives the solution for human behavior and for life after death. God's law is perfect! Who can keep it without Holy Spirit help? So fallen man must admit that he needs God's help. Just think how perfect God's solution for true peace is. Listen ~

~ Psychology has replaced the story of Christ when it comes to dealing with sin, guilt and forgiveness. Many are asking themselves; “Do I really need 'religion' in a world that I have everything I already need at my fingertips?” This is the challenge for the Christian faith especially. Where is Jesus in all of this madness? ~

~ We should now begin to accept the fact of our pitiful dilemma. We have been given so much time to get over our fighting and over contaminated religions. We continue to fight over skin color, God, territory, nationality, philosophy, etc. We should be using our advanced scientific discoveries to save this planet and create a healthier living environment. We should be advanced mentally enough to all get along and live at peace. ~

~ There are many instances in the Bible where the people would judge the messenger instead of the message. This happened with the prophets. King David murdered, worshiped false idols and many other sins he committed but through him God wrote part of the Bible. King David wrote many beautiful Psalms. When we look at the type of people Jesus chose to be His apostles we see some sinful men. But no matter who God ultimately chooses God continues to tell them to not give up, to continue to try and follow His commandments no matter what anybody else says. God continues to tell His people; "Stop sinning." ~

~ When we look at the world today we see the same crimes and violence that has been here for over 5000 years. Why can’t all the people really change? We have counselors, we have psychologists, we have so called “self-esteem” teachers but the world has not changed. We have gone from throwing rocks at each other to the creation of nuclear and biological weapons. ~

~ We are instructed: “And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may PROVE WHAT IS THAT GOOD, AND ACCEPTABLE, AND PERFECT, WILL OF GOD.” [Romans 12:2] Thinking like a child of God means that we change our old ways, even if it doesn't at first make sense. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” [Proverbs 3:5,6] What this means is that we have our eyes on the Kingdom of God. Jesus said; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto to you.” [Matthew 6:33] ~

~ God commands us to extend true God Love towards those who have hurt us. He never asks us to wait to see if they forgive us or try and understand us. We are to forgive just as Jesus Christ forgives. Our job is not to try and figure out what everybody else is thinking. We are simply to live God’s will as He reveals it to us through His word and with the help of the Holy Spirit. ~

~ The Bible gives us proper understanding of guilt; its cause and how to deal with it. First of all the Bible [God’s Word] proclaims that “None is righteous, no, not one.” [Romans 3:10] Let me say here that this does not mean that we [humans] can ‘never’ be right. Some people have this idea that Christians take on this ‘victim’ persona with a “woe is me” attitude. This is a false assumption. What we need to truly understand is right from wrong. The Bible states that “sin is the transgression of the law”. Who’s law? God’s law! ~

~ We are to be focused on Jesus Christ and His true message, the Gospel of the Kingdom of God! It is not the job of the Church to “convert”. It is not the work of the Church to try and get “as many” as possible to accept our message. Churches who are worried about ‘numbers’ focus on this kind of nonsense. Only the true Worldwide Church of God [COGSR/SOCT] has explained from the Bible God’s true purpose of the Church. Most all denominations are concerned about numbers and money….how sad! ~

~ Jesus Christ accepted Jews, Samaritans, Romans, Greeks, Ethiopians and other peoples who were living in first century Judea. It is true that Jesus Christ our savior loved and loves all who come to Him in Truth. God’s coming Kingdom will have room for all of His children. Even today His bride, the Church of God, has room for all peoples who come to Him in Truth. Our Creator celebrates diversity. All one has to do is look at creation. Numerous types, shapes, colors and sizes of birds, trees, flowers and peoples. ~

~ When we contemplate all of these thoughts let us pray that many others will come to the beautiful reality of Science Of Christian Thought…in Jesus name, amen. ~
